CANTRALL – James M. Crebs, 74, of Cantrall died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Quincy, the son of Harvey Stewart and Maretta Rollins Crebs. He married Donna L. Hartnagel on Dec. 24, 1986.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Crebs; a son, Tony Crebs of Oceanside, Calif.; a sister, Barbara Mitts of Quincy; and a nephew.
James was a resident of Cantrall since 1986.
He was a standardbred horse owner, trainer and driver and was the owner of Jim Crebs Stable.
He attended Sherman United Methodist Church. He was a past president of Quincy Exchange Club. He was a U.S. Army combat veteran serving during the Korean War.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Pennell officiating.
Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Sherman United Methodist Church.
