James "Jim" Joseph Mann

February 4, 1930 - November 10, 2015

James “Jim” Joseph Mann passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning, November 10, 2015. Jim was born to Maude and J.A. Mann of February 4, 1930.

He played sports in school, loved baseball (at one time was able to pitch a ball at 92 mph!) and served his country in the US Navy. He was a strong patriot and a committed Christian who read his Bible and prayed every day. Of late, every time he prayed, he’d say, “Lord, it’s me again…” Known as a strong, quiet man, those who knew him well knew that he was also mischievous, had a good sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes.

Jim was in banking for many years and later worked as a security guard part-time. He worked until he was 82 and only stopped working then to help care for his wife, Ruth. Jim and Ruth were married for 63 years until she went to be with the Lord last year. Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Don (Dorothy) and is survived by his daughters, Jann Braun and Priscilla Evans his son-in-law Rick Braun, his “adopted daughter”, Cheryl Harvey (Steve), two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one niece and several great nieces and nephews and his wonderful care-givers, Margaretta Rice and Toni Hill.
