James “Jim” J. Tank, 74, of Springfield, died at 7:50 am, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home. He was born March 1, 1944 in Springfield to Anthony, Sr. and Ellen (McLaughlin) Tank. He married Barbara “Barb” Haynes on August 31, 2017 and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Mark (Jenny) Tank of Bloomington, J.R. (Des) Tank of Springfield and Nicole Privett of Calgary AB; six grandchildren; three brothers, Tony (Rosie) Tank of Titusville, FL, Patrick Tank of Rochester and Johnny (Diane) Tank of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rachelle Tank and two sisters, Barbara Pulliam and Susann Ausmus.
He worked for the State Journal Register for thirty years as a Journeyman.
Jim was a diehard Cardinal fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
