James G. Albert, 83, of Springfield, was promoted to glory on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. He was born on May 20, 1928 in Springfield, IL to George S. and Anna Marie Steinmacher Albert. He married Marilyn Ann Turley on August 5, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 30, 1993. His parents and one brother also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna (John) Peak of Springfield and Susan (Matthew) Harris of New Berlin; three sons, George “Bob” (Ruth) Albert, James “Steve” (Roxie Senn) Albert both of Springfield and John (Carla) Albert of Berlin; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother Donald (Mary) Albert of Bloomingdale, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Springfield resident all of his life, James was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church. He retired after 27 years from Bank One as an ATM technician and belonged to the Bank One Retirees.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, August 29, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
