James E. “Bud” Knox, 66, of Springfield, IL died at 1:47 a.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on April 7, 1945 in Springfield the son of Edward and Clara Reed Knox. He married Beverly Rogers on May 8, 1965 and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Bud is survived by one son Jim W. Knox (fiancé Michelle Marley) of Owaneco, IL; one grandson Corey J. Knox of Springfield, IL; one brother David E. Knox of Chicago, IL; a mother-in-law; three sister’s-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a member of St. James Church in Riverton and a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was employed as a truck driver for Lascody Trucking for over 30 years. Bud loved hunting, was a member of the NRA and enjoyed NASCAR and country music.
Visitation: 11:30 am – 1pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton.
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton with Rev. Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the NRA or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
