Ila Marie ""Polly"" Stanton

Ila Marie “Polly” Stanton, 92, of Riverton, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at home. Marie was born on October 29, 1925 in Bardwell, KY to Arthur and Jennie (Gorham) Terry and was one of nine children. She was a graduate of Arlington High School in Arlington, KY. She married Glenn E. Stanton in Charleston, MO on April 11, 1940. She was a charter member of Riverton First Baptist Church and Riverton Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by her son, Robert L. (Judy) Stanton of Des Plains, two daughters; Polly A. (Ken) Kirby of Riverton and Peggy L. (Paul) Branham of Edinburg; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Helen Terry of Paducah, KY.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, James Ralph Terry (infant), Harrell Terry, Mosby Terry, and Glyn Terry, and sisters Anna Lee Summer, Virginia Irene High, Juanita Bishop Terry, and Emma Jean Barnett.

Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Riverton First Baptist Church.

Funeral Service: 12 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Riverton First Baptist Church with Reverend Kip Troeger officiating. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverton First Baptist Church.
