Herbert “Herbie” B. Crawford, 50, died at 2:20 pm, Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1968, in Forrest City, AR to Benjamin Doris and Jerlene Crawford. He married Meranda J. Crawford on March 23, 2018, and she survives.
Left to honor and cherish his memories are: his wife, Meranda J. Crawford, two sons: Kevin and Robert Preston, three daughters: Alivia, Zivia and Ava Preston, as well as Rosie and Calvin Sprulell, which he thought of as his own, sisters: Debra Berry, Cleatrice McGregor, and Teresa Crawford, four brothers: Billy Crawford, Melvin Crawford, Keith Crawford, and Sam Dixon of Dekalb, and many aunts and uncles and a host of nieces and nephews that loved and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brother, Ricky Crawford.
He served in the US Army in the 3rd Division as a chemical specialist. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and loved ones.
Memorial Gathering: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm Friday, April 20, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 12:30 pm Friday, April 20, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Minister Chris Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
