SPRINGFIELD – Henry F. Ulm, 91, of Springfield died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Regency Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1917, in Springfield, the son of Henry and Mary Cole Ulm. He married
Edith Lorene Farmer on Aug. 3, 1947; she preceded him in death on May 17, 1997.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Ron Ulm and Barry (Jane) Ulm, both of Springfield, and Randy (Stacy) Ulm of Auburn; six grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Kristy, Daniel, Andrew, and Samantha; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Henry was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He retired as a machinist at Allis-Chalmers after 40 years of service and also owned and operated Ulm Building and Remodeling.
He was a member of Springfield Bible Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor John Standard officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
