BEARDSTOWN – Helen M. Winslow, 57, of Beardstown, formerly of Springfield, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008.
She was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Springfield, the youngest daughter of Henry and Grace Sutherd Bean.
She is survived by three daughters, Tina (husband, Mark) Peddycoart of Beardstown, Cindy Gulledge of Harristown and Shelly Neilson of Beardstown; two granddaughters, Stacey Barreras and Becky Peddycoart of Beardstown; a grandson, Dennis Butcheck of Harristown; a step-granddaughter and step-great-granddaughter, Jessica Stock and Alexa Stock, both of Springfield; two brothers, Bill (wife, Linda) Bean and Ed (wife, Pat) Bean; three sisters, Judy (husband, Bill) Pasenko, Delores (husband, Jim) Brown and Sandy Peters, all of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Jim Bean; and a sister, Mary Musser.
Helen worked as a waitress for 35 years with her sister Sandy Peters, with a majority of those years at Nevilles Truck Stop. Helen enjoyed spending time with her dog Tyke, reading and watching Cubs games on TV. She became an avid NASCAR fan, with Tony Stewart being her favorite. Helen had an ornery sense of humor and a way with words, she most enjoyed spending time visiting and laughing with her family.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home, with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery.
