SPRINGFIELD – Helen Lucille Judd-Victor, 81, of Springfield died at 4:07 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born June 28, 1928, in Boliva, the daughter of Roy Samuel and Cordie Noffsinger Sample. She married Paul Judd in 1945; he preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Lewis Emerson Victor in 1988; he preceded her in death in 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Faye Rankins; and three brothers, Eldon Leon, Leroy and Pierce Sample.
She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Egnew of Pawnee, Gloria (Terry) Wilson, Delores Judd and Barbara (Robert) Craig, all of Springfield; two sons, Paul (Diane) Judd and George (Linda) Judd, both of Springfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Luella Applegate and Betty Jean Davis, both of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was a resident of Springfield since 1939.
She worked for Sangamo Electric for 15 years, was a night manager for the Georgian Restaurant for 38 years and was a reinstatement clerk for Franklin Life Insurance Co. She was a member of Southside Christian Church.
Private funeral services were held with Pastor Robert Green officiating. Burial was at Cumberland Sugar Creek Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Sorry to hear that she passed, she was always my favorite aunt and I was wondering why I no longer heard from her. She always keep in touch and then one day nothing. She was truly a loving person. No one let us know. My father Eldon Leon Sample was her eldest brother.
