Helen L. Rheude

Helen L. Rheude, 83, of Springfield, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born December 8, 1933 in Springfield to Charles E. and Bertha (Jeffers) Coffey.

Surviving is a daughter, Rebecca (Monty) Webber of Springfield; two sisters, Juanita Smith and Joyce Barker, both of Springfield; several nieces and nephews and an estranged son, Robert E. (Karen) Rheude, Jr. and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Arthur, Jimmy, Larry and Clifford and three sisters, Mildred, Ione and Lorene.

Helen was a member of Riverton Christian Church. She was a certified SCUBA diver and loved camping, canoeing, scuba diving in the Keys and trips to Branson.

Helen previously worked at the Secretary of State. She retired from Horace Mann Insurance Company as an underwriter after 19 years of service. In her later years, she was a greeter at WalMart.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of services at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 26, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Grant Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
