SPRINGFIELD – Helen D. Hilberer, 94, of Springfield passed away at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Heritage Manor.
She was born June 1, 1914, the daughter of Martin and Ella (Zaehler) Wille in Des Plaines. She married Lester W. Hilberer on Sept. 7, 1940; he preceded her in death on July 8, 2004.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Earl Hilberer; sister-in-law, Clara Mae Hilberer; nieces, Pamela S. Hilberer and Patricia Musgrove; great-niece, Amy Musgrove; great nephews, Joshua and Anthony Musgrove; and many cousins and friends.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines. She was a bookkeeper for Universal Refrigeration. She moved to Springfield in 2000. Prior to 2000, she lived in Chicago suburban areas (Brookfield, Glenview, Arlington Heights and Des Plaines). Helen and Lester enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Viola Wille.
A graveside committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge. The Rev. George M. Schelter will be officiating.
