SPRINGFIELD, IL- Hazel Marie (Shaw) Renoud died on September 16, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. She was born on November 16, 1925 in Nebo, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Maude Shaw. She married William Renoud (deceased in 1997) on August 7, 1943 in San Diego, CA. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
She is survived by Billie (Craig) Carroll, Beverly Coontz, Steve (Pam) Renoud, and Jimmy Renoud all of Springfield and 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She will be remembered as being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known for her delicious red velvet cake and meatballs and loved music, flowers, and owl figurines.
In 1943-1944 she was proud of being a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII.
She was a member of Lakeside Church of Christ.
Visitation: 10:30 am-12 pm
Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield with Art Cornell officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
