Harry Logan Bauereiss, 90, of Springfield, died at 9:30 pm, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born June 21, 1927 in Springfield, to Thomas and Grace Davenport Bauereiss. He married Marjorie M. Fields on September 30, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 30, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; five sisters and two brothers, one of whom was his twin.

Surviving are two sons, Kirby Bauereiss of FL and Phillip Bauereiss; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was a US Army Veteran and was stationed in Austria.

He was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church. Harry was an accomplished cook, master baker and enjoyed quilting. He had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir. He worked for First National Bank and after retirement worked at St. John’s Hospital.

Visitation: 10-11 am, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Cana Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made to Elliott Avenue Baptist Church.
