SPRINGFIELD – Harold L. Neece, 83, of Springfield died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Palmyra, the son of Irving Lynn and Dorothea Maria Wiggins Neece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Neece, a resident of Springfield most of his life, had been an accountant at Pillsbury Mills. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
Surviving are his companion, Avalon Tannehill of Springfield; goddaughters, Carla Cox of Rochester and Carin O’Connor of Springfield; a nephew, Darvin Hensley of Staunton; and an aunt, Lois Hensley.
A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Swank officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
