H. David Fry, 77, of Chatham, Illinois died on Monday, October 23, 2017 at his home.
David was born July 27, 1940 in Billings, Montana, to Guy and Lorraine Fry. He married Adrienne R. Indlecoffer on April 28, 1962, in Denver, Colorado and she survives.
He is also survived by their daughters, Kim (Dennis) Papp of Channahon, Illinois; Karen (Keith) Herwig of Mankato, Minnesota; Katie McElroy of Chatham, Illinois and one son, David (Melissa) of Novelty, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition, three sisters and one brother, all residing in Montana, survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Fry.
Dave spent thirty-five years as an administrator with the Illinois High School Association, serving as its Executive Director from 1991 until his retirement in 2002. He also worked on numerous committees and special projects for the National Federation of High School Associations over the course of his career, serving as President of that organization in 1995-96. He was very dedicated to his wife, children and grandchildren, always looking for avenues through which to be a positive contributor to their lives. He also enjoyed and spent much time serving the Lord teaching children and adults in his church.
David looked forward to his death as a “home going,” because he was assured of his eternal destiny as one redeemed by the blood of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Memorials may be made to the Tuition Fund at Calvary Academy, Springfield, Illinois.
