Gregory A. Winters, 57, of Springfield, died peacefully surrounded by his family at 2:39 am, Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on March 31, 1960 to John and Virginia (Martin) Winters. He married Mary Walker in October of 2016, and she survives.
Also surviving are five children: Jason (Krista) Winters of Tallula, Jennifer (Chris) Grant, Amanda (Breck) Markley, Kerri Malone and Adam Winters, all of Springfield, nine grandchildren, mother, Virginia Winters of Springfield, three brothers: Jeff Winters of Springfield, Randy (Lynda) Winters of Elsberry, MO and Robbie (Denise) Troesch of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Julie Winters.
Greg was a resident of Springfield most of his life. He worked for Spillway Lanes and AMF bowling alleys and was a delivery driver for Capitol City Vending. He enjoyed bowling, loved racing and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, September 29, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend John Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
