Grace R. Todd. 87, of Springfield, formerly of Santa Fe, NM, died at 7:05 pm, Monday, April 25, 2016 at Heritage Health. She was born September 19, 1928 in Flat Rock, IL to Clyde Harold and Irene (Whitehurst) Todd. Surviving are one sister, Ellen Whitney of Springfield; nephew and niece, Blair (Rita) Whitney and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Grace graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. She received her nursing degree from Wesley Memorial (now Northwestern School of Nursing) in Chicago. During her many years in the nursing profession, she worked in many different aspects, including school nursing, hospital, and teamsters union work. She brought joy and compassion to everyone whose life she touched.
At her request, no services will be held. Friends who wish to honor her may make a contribution to Children’s Miracle Network or Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery.
The family would like to thank Jo Ann Thomas of Heart and Hands Health Care and the staff of Heritage for their care of Grace.
