Grace Huntley, 95, of Springfield, died on Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born October 28, 1919, on a farm near Plainfield, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Agnes Ramsay McAllister. She had been a resident of Springfield since 1945.
Mrs. Huntley was a graduate of the University of Illinois and had served a dietetic internship at the Indiana University Medical Center. In 1943, she joined the United States Army and became a dietician with the 32nd General Hospital, stationed in Europe during World War II.
Mrs. Huntley is survived by her daughters: Laura Huntley, Rosemary (Paul) Kendall, and Carol (Zack) Burris; her son, Edward Huntley; daughter-in-law, Nancy Huntley; three grandchildren: Jonathan (Kristin) Huntley, Katherine Burris, and Victoria Burris; her great-granddaughter, Rose Huntley, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
