SPRINGFIELD – Gladys L. Krueger, 91, of Springfield died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born May 9, 1916, in Buckley, the daughter of Edward and Sadie Bartel Trusheim. She married William Bill Krueger; he preceded her in death in 1962. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Reva Zbinden; and a brother, Russell Trusheim.
Mrs. Krueger lived most of her adult life in Springfield and was formerly of Buckley.
She was a stenographer and secretary for the federal government for many years.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an avid Cubs fan. She attended business college in Galena.
Surviving are four nieces, Gloria Williamson of Muncie, Ind., Darlene Wietbrock of Lowell, Ind., Marilyn Drewien of Australia and Peggy Maiorano of Temecula, Calif.; several great- nieces and great-nephews; and her loving caregivers, Sabrina Hunter and Tina Murray.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Radtke officiating.
