Giovanna Pecori, 92, of Springfield, died at 5:51 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1920 in Trieste, Italy to Giuseppe and Maria Frol. She married Carlo Pecori and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Claudio Mario (Sandra) Pecori and Sergio Antonio (Rosemary) Pecori both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Carlo (Alison) Pecori of New York, NY, Anna (Henson) Robinson of Chicago, Nicki (Bob Fioretti) Pecori of Chicago and Gina (Greg) Pecori of Springfield; three great grandchildren, Antek Pecori-Robinson, Niko Pecori-Robinson and Henson Robinson; and one sister, Pina Catucci of Trieste, Italy.
Mrs. Pecori was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family.
Visitation: 9-11 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Church.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Church with Monsignor Thomas Holinga officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church or the Hope Institute for Children and Families.
