SPRINGFIELD – Geraldine M. Johnson, 83, of Springfield died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born March 6, 1925, in Fidelity, the daughter of Archibald and Marie Richards Cantrall. She married Ray H. Johnson on Nov. 20, 1949.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eldon Albert.
She is survived by her husband, Ray H. Johnson of Springfield; a daughter, Debra M. Treadwell of Springfield; two sons, David R. (Julie) Johnson of Springfield and Kevin R. (Mari) Johnson of Sugar Grove; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a
sister, Ieleen Heyland of Springfield; two
brothers, Russell D. (Rose) Albert of Chatham and Floyd (Glenna) Albert of Richmond, Texas;
and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
She was a resident of Springfield most of her life. She worked assembly at ordnance plant in Illiopolis, an auditor for Sears and part time for the Department of Agriculture.
She attended Northside United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler and she enjoyed Sunday afternoon drives with her family and playing board games.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Deffley officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
