George A. (Ike) Cline
SPRINGFIELD – George A. (Ike) Cline, 90, of Springfield died at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home. He was born August 8, 1920 in Athens, IL, the son of Otto and Gladys Mason Cline. He married Charlotte Marie Kingery in August of 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Georgia Lynn Miller and one sister: Helen Jean Eddings.
George is survived by his wife, Charlotte; one son, Joe (wife: Dee) Cline of Springfield, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
George was a member of the Prop Club and a lifetime member of The National Rifle Association. He loved bowling and formerly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He retired from Illinois Bell after 45 years of service as a PBX repairman.
Visitation: 10 – 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Robert Green officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
