Frieda Rose Pervinich, 95, of Springfield, IL, died at 11:03pm, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Heritage Health in Springfield, IL.
She was born October 22, 1918 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank Herman Miller and Mary Musser. She married Fabian (Bob) Robert Pervinich on October 25, 1941. After 34 years of marriage, retired Sergeant Major Pervinich died July 14, 1976. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank Pervinich Jr. and sister Mrs. Mary Horan. She is survived by three daughters:
Carol Pervinich – Helm in Gresham, Oregon, Jane E. Ford (husband, Paul) in Springfield, IL and Nan K. Pervinich (husband, Ted Masiak, deceased) in Springfield, IL.
After 23 years in policy owner services, Frieda retired from Franklin Life
Insurance Company on October 31, 1983. For ten years, she volunteered at
the Senior Center. She also enjoyed taking watercolor classes, reading, knitting afghans, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Frieda chose to live at Washington Plaza in 1995. During her time there, she led an exercise class off & on, until age 90 and helped establish a jigsaw puzzle room for all the residents.
Memorial Gathering: 9:30 – 11:30 am, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Agnes Church.
Memorial Mass: 11:30 am Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Agnes Church with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Following Frieda’s wishes, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Senior Services of Illinois, 701 West Mason, Springfield, IL 62702 or to Memorial Home Services Hospice, 720 North Bond Street, Springfield, IL 62702.
