Frank Manuel Breakville 82, of Springfield, died at 9:50 am, Wednesday, July 11, 2012. He was born January 9, 1930 at home in Meredosia, Illinois to Frank August and Marie Haberer Breakville. He married Carolyn Frances Williams on April 2, 1960 at Bunn Park Christian Church and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cindy (Bill) Burger and Libby (Joe) Speaks both of New Berlin; grandchildren, Emily and Katie Speaks, Joel, Hannah and Ben Burger all at home; sister, Rosalie Grindle, one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; two brothers, David and Edward Breakville and three sisters, Edith Smith, Alberta Boes and Helen Rhoades preceded him in death.
Frank enlisted in the US Air Force and then switched to the US Army to enroll in OCS. Only 38 of the 300 plus members of his OCS class graduated. Frank graduated OCS 2nd in his class. He then served as a 1st Lt. during the Korean War.
He served as Vice President at Horace Mann Insurance Company before working for the State of Illinois. He retired from the State of Illinois as the manager of the Central Computer Facility. He was a member of West Side Christian Church where he served for years as a deacon and an active member of the TNT class.
He loved being with his family and beloved dog, Bakers, his daily lunches with his good friend, Buzz, listening to the Holy Bible, watching the Cubs and get togethers with “The Gang”.

Funeral Service: 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Duggins officiating.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Monday, July 16, 2012 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.
