SPRINGFIELD – Frank Lynn Hewitt, 70, of Springfield died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Atlanta, the son of Harry and Pauline Snooks Hewitt Sr. He married Linda Pat Balding on March 2, 1974. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
Mr. Hewitt, a resident of Springfield most of his life, worked for 22 years in the Springfield area in the paint and autobody business and was also owner and operator of Hewitt’s Paint and Autobody. He delivered Daily Bread Meals for six years. He will be sadly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Pat Hewitt of Springfield; a daughter, Debhra Lynnette Doerfler of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jamie B. Rolando and Benjamin A. Doerfler; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Thomas Rolando and Brandon Gregory Rolando; four sisters, Harriett Faith of California, Dorothy Packingham and Jesse Sorenson, both of Springfield and Edie Lane of Bement; two brothers, Harry (wife, Lois) Hewitt Jr. and William Hewitt of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Private burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
