Frank H. “Big Red” Roberts, 80, of Pleasant Plains, IL died at 6:25 am, Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born August 31, 1941 in Spann Hill, KY to William and Rosie (Abott) Roberts. He married Elizabeth A. Kramp May 26, 1995 and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Tony (Jody) Roberts of Pleasant Plains; step-children, Edward (Kim) Ealey of Destin, FL, Jay Alexander of Ripley, IL and Julie (Mark) Hadra of Pleasant Plains; two grandchildren, Kiaya Roberts of Pleasant Plains and Emma Roberts of Terre Haute, IN; one sister, Ruby (Les) Reid of Oskaloosa, KS and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ethel Cissell and four brothers, Bill, LG, George, and Tommy Roberts.
He enjoyed fishing, keeping up with his gardening and hummingbirds. He enjoyed his time on his property in Monroe City, MO. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Frank reitred in 2003 from Tom Roberts Trucking after 30 years of service.
Graveside Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Pleasant Plains Cemetery with Pastor Keith Masten officiating and military honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
