Frank E. Gabriel

Frank E. Gabriel, 91, of Rochester died at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Heritage Health Center. He was born October 15, 1920 in Rochester, IL to Clarence and Dorothy Chandler Gabriel. He married Theresa Albright in 1947 and he preceded him in death in 1972, he then married Emma in 1973 and she preceded him in death, he married Lois Nelson in 1981 and she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was an infant son and two brothers, Clarence and Bernard Gabriel.
Survivors include a daughter, Marigale (David) Hollis of Rochester, two sons, Bruce (Ruth Ann) Gabriel of Rochester and Robert (Sharon) Gabriel of Springfield, four grandchildren, Daniel Hollis, Theresa McQuern, Clint and Joshua Gabriel, nine great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Gabriel lived in rural Rochester and Edinburg most of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was employed as a farmer and truck driver.
Visitation: 9:00-10:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
