Frances “Jean” E. Siemert, 92, of Buffalo, IL, died at 10:23 pm, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Mary Lou’s Assisted Living. She was born December 24, 1924, in Delavan, IL to Floyd and Amelia Morris in a farmhouse, delivered by a tired country doctor who entered the wrong name on her birth certificate. She married Fred Siemert on February 9, 1947, who preceded her in death on December 15, 1975. Also preceding her in death are her parents, one sister, Katherine Dale and one brother, Robert Morris.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Rick) Selinger; two sons, Matt (Ruth) Siemert and Mark (Holly) Siemert; six grandchildren, Rich, Andrea, Kevin, Greta, Heather and Lynn; seven great-grandchildren, Brad, Bryson, Brenton, Colt, Kai, Ruby and Otto; one brother, Don (Linda) Morris, and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, IL. She was a Junior High English teacher at Tri-City, retiring after many years of service. She was also a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling the world and attending the many activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation: 9 – 10 am, Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Pastor Richard Piscatelli officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

I remember Mrs. Siemert so fondly from teaching with her at Tri-City. I'll never forget her hospitality to me when a snowstorm kept me from being able to get home after teaching a night class. We ate and talked and we really got to know each other that night. I am grateful to have known her, Karen Bennett
