SPRINGFIELD – Frances E. Jackson, 85, of Springfield died at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born May 24, 1922, in Springfield, the daughter of Andrew and Catherine Herman Danner. She married Edward B. Jackson on Feb. 24, 1946; he preceded her in death on March 19, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; stepmother, Beulah Danner; two sisters, Kathleen Snow and Florence Aiello; and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Jackson, a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. She enjoyed playing Bunco and camping.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (husband, Jerry) Dyer of Sherman; two sons, Edward Jackson and Craig (wife, Tina) Jackson, both of Springfield; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beulah Szabo of Pawnee, Mabel Croutcher of Ocala, Fla., and Phyllis Dorworth and Evelyn (husband, Gary) Lazar, both of Springfield; two brothers, Louis (wife, Ann) Danner of Springfield and Ernest (wife, Millie) Danner of Waynesville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, with Robert Green officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
