Frances E. Henry
Frances E. Henry, 95, born, April 1, 1912 at Palmyra, Illinois, passed away on September 30, 2007, at her home. She was the daughter of Charles O. and Ethel Mae (Bivin) Zelmer. She graduated from Palmyra High School in 1930 and married Earl Lendal Henry on January 2, 1931, at Springfield, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and her brother, Marion Zelmer of Palmyra, Illinois, in 1982. Surviving are her daughters, Marlene A. Hinman of Loami, Kathryn L. Skeeters of Springfield, and Carolyn J. Siuda of Atlanta, Illinois. There are six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew.
Frances was a charter member of South Side Christian Church, a member of Lewis Memorial Auxiliary volunteer, and also a member of American Legion Auxiliary 1034. A bookkeeper for 40 years, she retired after 19 years as manager and bookkeeper for Charles Miller & Sons Plumbing & Heating, ten years as treasurer for South Side Christian Church, and 13 years as a South Side Christian Church volunteer at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Staab Funeral Home. Remains will lie in state from 9-10 am Thursday, October 4, 2007 at South Side Christian Church with funeral services there at 10 am, Robert Green, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra. Memorials may be made to South Side Christian Church.
