Everett L. Kiefer

Everett L. Kiefer, 89, of Springfield, died at 11:02 pm, Friday, December 30, 2016, at his home. He was born August 4, 1927 in Sparta, IL to Charlie and Nora Maynard Kiefer, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Toby, Nelson and Jim.

Survivors include his companion of 55 years, Karen Patterson of Springfield and brother, Scott Kiefer, of Sparta.

Everett worked as an accountant at Franklin Life for 35 years. He also served in the United States Navy Seabees during WWII.

Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.

Burial will take place at New Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL at a later date.
