Evelyn Fanale, 92, of Springfield, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born May 30, 1919 in Riverton to Nick and Rose Frasco Ursini.
She married Ike Fanale on May 5, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by her son, Robert, a sister-in-law Beulah Ursini, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Evelyn was a member of St. Joseph parish and The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She will be remembered most for her kindness, patience, and good work habits.
She was raised in Riverton, attended Riverton High School for three years, and received her high school diploma from Springfield High School in 1937 after attending SHS her senior year.
Evelyn worked for a variety of different employers, and would often remark that she never had a job she didn’t like.
She enjoyed most of all the jobs she held during her 25 year career as a federal government employee, spent mainly with the Internal Revenue Service. She retired from the IRS in 1979.
Evelyn had a happy and fulfilling retirement as she cared for her family, worked on her craft hobbies, and attended prayer group meeting with her friends.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at St. Joseph Church.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at St. Joseph Church with Monsignor Thomas Holinga officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery
