Evelyn Falcetti Leach 89 of Springfield, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Auburn Nursing Home in Auburn, Illinois.
Born in Auburn, Illinois October 19, 1919, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Oscar D. Falcetti. She married LaRue Woodrow Leach in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1966. She worked for the State of Illinois Department of Public Health as an Executive Secretary for fourteen years and retired in 1981.
She was a member of Westside Christian Church. Evelyn loved to go on the gambling boat with her sisters and loved to play BINGO. She was an avid Cardinal fan and spent her free time doing crossword puzzles and comparing notes with her sisters. Sewing was her passion and she was a seamstress for many many years. She enjoyed her Wednesday poker night with the girls.
She doted on her grandchildren and was dearly loved by all her family.
She is survived by one son Stephen L. (wife: Deborah) Leach of Springfield, two daughters Debora Cantrall of Chatham and Cynthia L. Donnelly of Austin, Texas, two sisters Mary Proctor and Veronica Todd both of Springfield, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, one son Ronald Leach and one sister Betty Scott preceded her in death.
Private family services will be held with burial in Auburn Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial may be made to Westside Christian Elementary School.
