Eva “Margery” McDonald, 97, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her home. She was born on March 2, 1925, in Waverly, the daughter of Cephas and Edith (Sims) Turner. She married Colonel Joy McDonald on May 22, 1944 and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2003.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Maxine Hartsook.
Survivors include her son, James E. McDonald of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Lynn McDonald of Springfield; brother-in-law, Harold Hartsook; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
As an Army wife, Margery lived in Japan, Germany and various states in the US. She has been a resident of Springfield since 1977. She provided for her family as a homemaker. Margery was an active member of South Side Christian Church and worked as a volunteer at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.
Visitation: 10 – 11:30 am, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Brooks Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Side Christian Church.

I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Marge was absolutely the most awesome person, always had a smile and hug for you. She will be missed by all. RIP Aunt Marge and I love you.
