SPRINGFIELD – Eva L. Dodge Mounce, 61, of Springfield died at 1:55 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at her home.
She was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Wilbur E. and Eva C. Osborn Dodge. Her parents and brother, Raymond Dodge, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mounce last worked for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was a graduate of Cornell High School. She lived in Streator for many years and spent many years studying and researching 19th century potters and potteries of Illinois. She authored and co-authored several publications on the subject.
Surviving are two sons, Eric (wife, Keri) Mounce of Virden and Gregg Mounce of West Carrollton, Ohio; sister, Janice Alsdorf of Pontiac; two brothers, Richard (wife, Janet) Dodge of Streator and Robert Dodge of Flora; three uncles, Henry Osborn of Connecticut and Clyde Gene and Merle Dodge of the Streator area; an aunt, Sharon Dodge, also of the Streator area; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Streator.
