SPRINGFIELD – Eugenie Jenny S. Sinclair, 89, of Springfield died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Tovey, the daughter of Ernest and Flora D’Howard Leclercq Sr. She married Ray E. Sinclair in April of 1947; he preceded her in death in July of 1973.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry Leclercq.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Hout of West Chicago and Donna (Stanley) Armes of Port Elizabeth, South Africa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jenny was a resident of Springfield since 1949.
She owned and operated her own home day care for many years.
She was a founding member of Calvary Temple Church, where she was very active in the Church’s nursery program. She enjoyed playing games at Capital Retirement Village.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Calvary Temple Church. Jenny’s body will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at Calvary Temple Church, with Pastor Mark Johnson. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery
