Esther Marie Schwener

Esther Marie Schwener, 99, of Springfield died at 11:30 pm, Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born April 8, 1917 in Springfield to Carl and Hilda (Lambstrom) Anderson. She married Henry L. Schwener April 26, 1938 and he preceded her in death November 19, 1987. Also preceding her in death was a son, William H. Schwener on June 23, 2016, one brother, Charles Anderson and two sisters, Frances Guymon and Amy Randell.

Esther was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority for many years and was also member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She retired at age 90 from Standard Mutual where she worked as an executive secretary for over 40 years.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Jessica Svensson of Gardnerville, NV, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 11 am – 1 pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Reverend Steve Janoski officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
