SPRINGFIELD – Emmarie Tootie May Moss, 79, died May 12, 2008, at her home.
She was born June 3, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of Samuel L. Sr. and Catherine (Horrighs) Fox. She married Oklen P. Moss Sr.
Mrs. Moss was a homemaker. Children who wandered in and out of her home with her children and grandchildren just knew her as Mom or Grandma. She was a mother and grandmother to all and was always helping someone in need. She was a Republican election judge for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Oklen P. Moss Sr.; seven children: Richard C. (wife, Nancy) Cleeton of Okanogan, Wash., and Ann Annie (husband, Steven) Scott, Betty Jean (husband, Jerry) Lowe, Oklen P. Pete (wife, Nancy) Moss Jr., William H. Bill (wife, Norma) Moss Sr., Karen Edna (husband, David) Herr and Melvin J. Moss, all of Springfield; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Tina Marie Behl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sam L. Boob Fox Jr.; a son, Donald L. Cleeton Jr. and his wife Carol; a grandson, Oklen P. Moss III; and a great-grandson, Quinton Rehmke.
Visitation will be held from 4 until time of services at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brent Mitchell officiating.
