Elsie M. Zara

Elsie M Zara, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Edinburg, died at 10:15 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. John’s Hospice. She was born March 10, 1928 in London, England to William and May Jones Neal. She married Edmund J. Zara in 1953, and preceded her in death on July 10, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Gillian (Jason) Loftis of Springfield and granddaughter, Shawna Leady of Springfield. Elsie was a member of Edinburg Christian Church. She worked at Horace Mann as a Group Insurance representative. She enjoyed golfing, knitting, sewing, traveling, reading and crafting.

Memorial Service: 1 pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Dan Spruell officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
