SPAULDING – Elsie M. Thompson, 91, of Spaulding passed away at 1:58 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010, at her home. She was born July 21, 1918, in Athens, IL to Russell and Margaret M. Dailey Williams.
Elsie married Ray O. Thompson in 1936 and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Gerald Williams; 3 sisters, Dorothy Oliver, Margaret Godart and Bette Hutchens.
Elsie is survived by 1 son, Thomas Lee (Janice) Thompson of Riverton; 3 grandchildren, Theresa (Ron) Thompson, Richard (Julie) Thompson and David (Kathy) Thompson; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Harold Williams; 2 sisters, Patricia Danaher and Kathryn Carrigan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is a member of St. James Church in Riverton and was a lifelong resident of Springfield area. Elsie worked for Hobbs Manufacturing.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with Reverend Christopher House officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
