Elmore “Bill” W. Snyder III, of Springfield, IL died at his home on Friday, October 7, 2011. He was born on December 27, 1935 in Leavenworth, KS to Elmore William and Helen Stephens Snyder II.
Bill married Nancy Jane Vosseler on April 26, 1958 and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by two daughters, Cecelia (Gary) Reside of Paducah, KY and Amy Yeates of Springfield; two sons, Drew (Masumi) Snyder of Dayton, OH, Sean (Kelly) Snyder, DVM of Auburn, IL; nine grandchildren, Aaron and Nicholas Reside, Rachel (Christian) Rea, Cory, Tyler and Jordan Yeates, Grace, Olivia and Sophie Snyder; one sister, Stephanie (Ed) Schmidt of Appleton, WI; one brother, Brewster Snyder of Tampa, FL, one aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was a member of Church of the Little Flower, where he was active in the choir, funeral choir, served as a lector and belonged to Young At Heart and Why Catholic? He formerly served on the finance committee and was past president of the PTA. He was president of his fraternity at Kansas University and a lifelong Jayhawk fan. Bill was very active in Rotary South and was a lifetime member of the Sangamo Club. He was active with Meals on Wheels and St. John’s Breadline. He was a proud member of the “Cracker Barrel” Club with his many friends. He was a past member of the ABC Club, and past board member of several financial institutions.
He worked as a C.P.A. for Ernst & Ernst. In 1974, he opened his own accounting business. Later he began and operated PRN Healthcare. He served as a Commissioned Officer in the Air Force.
Visitation: 3-6pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Church of the Little Flower. A prayer service will be held at 3pm.
Funeral Mass: 11am, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Church of the Little Flower with Msgr. Ossola officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Leavenworth, KS.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nancy J. Snyder Scholarship Fund at Little Flower School or Animal Protective League.

My deepest sympathy to all of you, BIll's family. I was on vacation when Bill died and I got the call. I was not able to attend the services and feel bad but I was on Hospital call that day here at St. joseph's Hospital in Highland and I can't be far away. What a wonderful and dedicated servant to Little Flower CHurch and to his GOD.... always sang at all the funerals, always faithful to honoring the dead.....now hw lives again....and reunites with your mom Nancy and they will celebrate at the banquet feast in heaven for all eternity...... may GOd bless you all and keep you all in His loving care....Peace, Fr.
