Elizabeth S. "Liz" Welch

Elizabeth S. “Liz” Welch, 94, of Springfield, died at 12:05 pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1922 in Springfield to Andy and Margaret Gable Shandor. She married Everett L. “Bud” Welch on August 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2006. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, four sisters and daughter, Patricia Heckman.

Surviving are a daughter, Cinda “Cindy” Welch and son, Thomas L. (Vicki Lynn) Welch, both of Springfield; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Liz was a resident of Springfield all of her life. She retired from Hobbs Manufacturing after several years of service.

Mother was a homemaker and enjoyed the many years of Square Dancing and camping with the Square Dance Clubs that she and Bud were involved with.

Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 am, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Chaplain David Swihart officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
