Eleanor L. Clark, 93, of Springfield died at 11:43 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on March 21, 1917 in Sherman to William and Grace Black Stailey. She married Alvah L. Clark on September 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one brother, John W. Stailey and; one sister, Dorothy Klemaier. She is survived by; two daughters, Charlene Phillips and Rosa Lee Kapshandy both of Springfield; four grandchildren: Greg (Chris) Kapshandy of Springfield, Julie Osban of Springfield, Kevin (Laura) Phillips of Cary, NC and Mike (Kathy) Kapshandy of Springfield; four great-grandchildren: JoAnna Osban, Jason Phillips and Allison and Mikey Kapshandy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eleanor was a machine operator for International Shoe Factory for 20 years. Eleanor was an avid reader. She enjoyed dining out with her family and friends and enjoyed caring for Abner her Pomeranian. She was a resident of Springfield most of her life.
A visitation will be held 5-7pm Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
