Edith F. Caruso of Springfield died at 11:56 am Friday April 1, 2016 at Heritage Health. She was born August 18, 1925 in Springfield to John and Elizabeth (Tapocik) Durako. She married Anthony Caruso on October 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2012.

Also preceding her in death are three sisters Mary Steil, Agnes Veseling, and Anna Hardy, and one brother John Durako.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Betty Durako of Bellville and several nieces and nephews.

Edith was a member of St. Aloysius Church, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, and Catholic Daughters of America. She retired from the Illinois Department of Public Health after 41 years of service.

Visitation: 4-7 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at St. Aloysius Church with Reverend Clinton Honkomp O.P. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
