SPRINGFIELD – Eda M. Murrill, 86, of Springfield died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Heritage Manor. She was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Gross, Kan., the daughter of Victor and Victoria Scalett Carnessali. She married Joseph Charles Murrill on Jan. 9, 1954; he preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Erminia Early.
She is survived by a brother, Ray Carnessali of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brother-in-laws, Louie Menendez and Louie Murrill; sister-in-law, Stella Murrill; two nieces, Teri Carnessali and Tina (husband, John) Snyder; a great-nephew, Christopher Snyler, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; a cousin, Vicky Pholod of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews from the Murrill and Menendez families.
She was a resident of Springfield since 1940.
She was a retired professional waitress for The So-Ho, The Supper Club and The (Original) Black Angus.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church. She loved to play Bingo and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home with prayers there at 5 p.m.
A funeral mass will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at St. Cabrini Church, with the
Rev. Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery
Memorials may be made to St. Cabrini Church.
