Earl Leroy Norman, 70, of Springfield died at 9:26am, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born July 15, 1940 in Glenarm, IL to Donald Leon and Sarah Alberta Nash Norman. He married Pat Boggs on October 10, 1960 and she survives. Also surviving are a son Ronnie (Pattie) Norman of Riverton; grandson Nick Miller, sister Fran Blankenship of Petersburg; 2 brothers Donald Norman of Springfield and Carl Norman of Missouri and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His son Monte Norman, parents, step-father Danny Clark and brother Kenneth Norman preceded him in death.
Earl was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the Air Borne Division. He retired after 30 years of service with the Railroad. Was a resident of Springfield all his life and he loved fishing.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral Service 12:30 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
Memorials may be made to the Prairie Heart Institute.
