SPRINGFIELD – E. Juanita Williams lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born April 4, 1927, in Rosiclare to Ulys and Audrey Cowsert.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Howard Williams; a son, Bob Miles (wife, Debbie) of Springfield; a daughter, Melody Miles-Smisor (partner, Bonnie Long) of Cahokia; two stepsons, Rick Williams (wife, Glenda) and Darrell Williams of Springfield; a brother, the Rev. W. Eugene Cowsert (wife, Leona) of West Frankfort; two sisters, Patsy Sue Cowsert (partner, Sharon McMillan) of Williamsville and Betty Jo Ashford (husband, DeWayne) of Rosiclare; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She was a longtime member of Springfield Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where she attended daily prayer meetings and taught Sunday school for many years.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. She will lie in state Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Springfield Trinity Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ron Waltrip officiating. Burial will be at Cowsert Cemetery in Rosiclare at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, with the Rev. Eugene Cowsert officiating.
