Dorothy Mae Wenger, 83, of Springfield died at 5:00 am Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Concordia Village. She was born October 25, 1928 in Chicago to James R. and Henrietta M. Bertram Gudgeon. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She married Alwin J. Wenger in 1978 and he survives.
Also surviving are two step sons, James Wenger of Largo, FL and Ronald (Carolyn) Wenger of Billings, MT; a granddaughter, Sarah E. and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including niece, Sharon Panozzo of Burbank, IL.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Telephone Pioneers. She retired as a supervisor in traffic for Illinois Bell with 35 years of service.
Visitation: 9:00 – 10:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. Wayne Hoffman officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery
