Doris Mayes

Doris M. Mayes, 83, of Vancouver, Washington, formerly of Springfield, died at 6:50 pm, Monday, December 10, 2012. She was born October 14, 1929 in Mannheim, Germany to Alexander and Anna Sophia Maria Overdick Burger. She married Lawrence Mayes in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Her parents, one brother, Rudy Burger and one sister, Annaliese Stahl also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ealey of Springfield and Ute (Carl) Futrell of Clifton, NC; three grandchildren, Heather Christina Theison of Vancouver, WA, Sarabeth Futrell and Joshua Futrell both of Clifton, NC and one niece, Ursula Stahl.
Doris was of the Catholic faith. She was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary and was a member of AARP. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and needle point.
